About Us - History
Established in 1973 when I started out part time with 1 ice-cream van. After attending shows and events with other ice-cream traders, I realised I could provide the same sort of service myself for considerably less than I was being charged so I formed a partnership with my brother-in-law in 1983, changed the name to Outdoor Caterers and we started applying for work ourselves.
We extended the business to incorporate food in 1994 after constantly being asked by many of our regular shows if we could provide food trailers as well as ice-cream. My brother-in-law has since retired but the company continues to grow using new family as well as other relatives and close friends.
The majority of the shows and events we cover we have attended for over 15 years which I feel speaks volumes for the service we provide. We constantly take on new work every year and generally manage to keep it for following years.
We now have an impressive fleet of ice-cream vans, trailers and parlours as well as Baguette, Carvery, Fish & Chips, Burger/hot dog, Simply Sausage and Simply Bacon units. We can supply Jacket Potatoes, Do-nuts, Thai Cuisine, Coffee Bars and Licensed Bars via close associates. We are therefore able to alleviate you of the problem of dealing with numerous different caterers allowing you more time to concentrate on the other aspects of organising your event
